Brush Chipping & Mulching in Jonesboro, AR
That brush pile in the back corner? It's a pest hotel, a fire line waiting for a dry March, and half your usable yard sitting under somebody else's unfinished weekend. Our commercial drum chipper turns it into useful mulch in minutes — and we blow it exactly where you want it.
What We Chip
- Storm brush. Limbs and tops from spring squall lines — often the same visit as our storm response cleanup.
- Trimming and pruning debris. When we're done with canopy work, everything we cut either gets chipped on site or hauled — your choice, priced up front.
- DIY chainsaw piles. You cut it over three weekends, we finish the cuts and chip the pile. No judgment — we've all been there with a rented saw and big plans.
- Hedge and shrub trimmings. The mountain a ligustrum hedge produces in one hard prune chips beautifully.
- Small-diameter whole trees. Volunteer hackberries and junk saplings come down and go straight through the chipper.
What we don't chip, for honest reasons: pressure-treated or painted lumber (the chemicals don't belong in your beds), anything with wire or fence fabric in it (that's how chipper blades and eyes get ruined), and root balls packed with soil (dirt beats up the machine and it isn't mulch anyway).
Chips Where You Want Them
Most homeowners want the chips blown directly onto landscape beds — and in Arkansas heat, fresh wood-chip mulch earns its keep: it holds soil moisture through July and August, knocks back the weed explosion, and breaks down into real organic matter instead of the delta clay baking to concrete. We can spread it for you, blow it into a neat pile for a weekend project, or haul every chip off the property if you'd rather buy bagged.
One free piece of advice with every load: pull mulch back from trunks. The "mulch volcano" stacked against bark is the most common slow killer we see on Jonesboro street trees — moist bark invites rot and the roots grow up into the pile. Two to four inches, donut-shaped, trunk clear. Your trees will outlive the trend.
Why Chipping Beats Burning
Craighead County spends parts of most dry seasons under burn restrictions, and for good reason — one windy afternoon with a brush fire on the ridge and the volunteer departments have a long day. Chipping gets the material gone the same day, no smoke, no permit question, no nervous glance at the forecast. It also keeps nutrients on your property instead of sending them up in smoke.

Chipping is usually the back half of another job: the trimming that made the pile, the storm cleanup that dropped the limbs, or the haul-away when you'd rather every trace disappear.
